With computer-delivered IELTS, you can receive your results within 3-5 days. Plus, you can choose from a variety of test sessions, available up to 7 days a week and 2 times a day, making it more convenient than ever to schedule your test.

When you take computer-delivered IELTS, your test result will be available within 3-5 days. The Writing and Speaking components will continue to be marked by IELTS examiners to ensure the highest level of accuracy and fairness.Computer-delivered testing allows us to increase the number of test dates (with paper-based and computer-delivered) each week, offering you more flexibility with test dates and times. You can choose your own dates and time slots.

How is it different from paper-based IELTS?

When you opt for computer-delivered IELTS, you take the Listening, Reading and Writing components using a desktop computer. All other aspects remain the same as paper-based IELTS test, including:

  • Question types
  • Timings
  • Marking

The timings when you take IELTS on computer are slightly different from the paper-based test.

  • Before attempting any part of the Listening test, you’ll have some time to read the questions
  • Before finishing the Listening test, you’ll be given two minutes to review your answers
  • Duration of the Listening test is approx. 30 – 36 minutes

IELTS Paper-Based Test Description

The IELTS Paper-Based Test is a traditional format where candidates use pen and paper to complete the test. It is available for both Academic and General Training modules. Here’s a breakdown of its key components:

Test Sections and Timing

Listening (30 minutes + 10 minutes transfer time)

Format: Four recorded monologues and conversations.
Questions: 40 questions (multiple-choice, matching, labeling, etc.).
Answer Sheet: Answers must be transferred to an answer sheet after listening.
Reading (60 minutes)

Format: Three sections with a total of 40 questions.
Academic: Texts from books, journals, and newspapers.
General Training: Everyday English texts like notices and advertisements.
Question Types: Matching headings, sentence completion, multiple-choice, etc.
Writing (60 minutes)

Tasks:
Task 1:
Academic: Describe visual information (graph, chart, table, or diagram).
General Training: Write a letter (formal, semi-formal, or informal).
Task 2: Write an essay responding to a point of view, argument, or problem.
Speaking (11–14 minutes)

Format: Face-to-face interview with an examiner.
